Unwirtten Law (Pat Kim)/Labeled Victims
Posted over 5 years ago
http://www.unwrittenlaw.com/Sorry hit the post B4 I was done. Let me finish, I know Pat from the day, I almost replaced him in his old punk band Labeled Victims, but reformed a prog/thrash/metal version in the early 90's with the guitarist the guitarist, I mixed in a lot of slap, pop, chordal, and racking techniq's in. The guitararist has a vid from one of our shows, I dug the original punk version.....(please don't hate me!)........Before I heard Nirvana, or any seattle stuff, in L.A. mid to late 80's we had the L.A. Metal,Glam,Rock, scene meanwhile in backyards, garages, H.S.'s, Venice beach, something's else's was trying to get out. Some made it out some didn't, Victims was a great band, I was playing in an experimental Metal band called "Angle Heart at the time."(you can skip this part if you want) ........{We got the worst reviews the critics hated us, but we had our following, it was all fuckin glam shit! I use to go on stage with a pierce nose, torn jeans, a long sleeve suffer type shirt, beat, slap, pop, the fuck outta my bass, never show my face. It was the days of custom clothing as T.O.P. said "We Came To Play (MotherFucker)" -nuff said-}........Continue here if skipping: Meanwhile Victims was kicking ass all over the place, the we're just still in H.S. so they asked My drummer and I for some direction, we helped produced and did some back up vocals on their first demo which was pretty much consisted of yea that sounds good, or move that thingy too the S.E. and for vocals ARH! ARH! ARH! ARH! (just to let you know if you ever mess up an "arh" no worry's you can either do a punch in or fix it in the mix). So the tape got done printed, I help them out I almost quit my band and thought about managing these guys, I saw all these post punks everywhere and I thought shit this is the next big thing (your might hate me now!) O.K. Nirvana great Killer, Awesome, I love the band, I fucking miss Kurt, I'm teared up a little writing his name, I live just outside of Aberdeed and it inspire's me, but when I heard Nirvana, I thought, Victim's (the punk version) had more to it around the time, Luis Chian was the main songwriter guitarist, he hates to solo, so when we played together I actually did a lot of the solo's on my bass. Don't get me wrong when I back someone up I always ask so what do want me to play and most of the time there's no flash involved, it's usually with my original stuff. Anyway's "Pat Kim" He and the singer Pebby (Jon Pebbsworh) moved to San Diego to go to college, Pat joined and mabe helped start Sprung Munky, Pebby started, Buck 'O' Nine, had a hit with my a song called "My Town," So all this stuff happened in between and then we heard Pat was in this band called "Unwritten Law" they took of and I'm really happy for Pat, I never talk to him I was't to close him like my guitarist, just kinda cool to know someone from the past who made the bigtime, and again I really happy for him, I wish succes for anyone reading this who seeks it good luck, good providence...
