That sounds great, especially the band and the instrumental second half. They are so tight and they really swing funkily. I'm ashamed that the only other stuff by them I've ever heard is a used cassette of their 1987 album The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, which has this gem, "Walkin' on Down the Road." Are there other people who like it?

Spike: Hey Spike! The Uplift Mofo Party is probably my favorite one from them. In fact IMO I think the first three are their best. That tune brings back a lot of memories...
Scotch: Hey Scotch, haven't seen you on here for a while! I Thought "One Hot Minute," was alright. Not their best, but had a few great tunes on it. My old bass teach thought it had Flea's best playing on it. He wasn't a big fan of these guy's until this one. He told me he use to rehearse in the same studio where they re-hearsed back in the 80's. He said all he heard all the time was swearing and fighting and bad playing.
darmuzz: Thank's, that is one of my favorite live albums. I think I like better than most of their studio recordings.

Ray! Yeah, I was out of town for a while working.
Anyway, I think they've gotten better as musicians, but the music itself just isn't as fun and edgy as it used to be. That's not to say that they "suck," exactly, just that they don't make the kind of music I like that much any more.
I could probably pick a dozen songs that I enjoy, or at least tolerate, since Mother's Milk.

Hiya, Scotch! they lost the edge you think? is that what happens when you grow up or just when you grow up and are in the same band for 20+ years?
Scotch says
Brit! Sorry for not getting back to this sooner... Anyway, I think it's a matter of learning what sells and what doesn't, writing those tunes, and getting a taste for those sales. Or maybe they are just getting old. :P
RGM says
Scotch & Brit: Like Cliff Burton with Metallica, I think Hillel Slovak took a big part of their sound to the grave with them. I also think with an exception of most of "One Hot Minute," everthing turn into "Under The Bridge" after that tune hit it big for them,
