Checking Out New AIC...(Black Gives way to BlueOn)...YouTube

Take Her Out
Last Of My Kind (This track sounds like Maynard from TOOL on vocals)
I really like it a lot,& I think it's better than their last one. & it border's on being as good as "Dirt" IMO. But it does sound like a Jerry C. solo album with an AIC label slapped on it. Of course I don't think it will sell as much as if it was his name on the album (but I maybe wrong, the world may never know).

Can't say that AIC is my usuial cuppa. But i like these tracks
been listening for a week now
good as 95's self titled? not quite
good as dirt? oh hell no! that is in my top 20 lps of ALL TIME
a damn good rock lp for this day and age
yes.
it should make my top 20 of this year
I say ditto, R&Rpimp.........
AIC have always been my cuppa, and I'm super impressed with this---the first AIC album since Layne's passing----no small feat but really sounds awesome.
That said, I don't consider it up there with Dirt.
one of my favorite bands up there with the big boyz.
i considered them to be the best of that "seattle" bunch
i just KNEW i would not like it
they made a believer of me but i still have a SLIGHT problem with using the name
they could have called it the jerry cantrell band
oh well
i LOVED/LOVE Layne.affected me as much as Lennon's death.
I hear ya!
Whatup PIMP! Where you hiding?
Thanks for the tracks, I'm digging on them. +1 on the AIC name question. Is it kosher? Hard to say. Jerry's solo albums had a certain "solitary" flavor, these feel more like band songs to me. Is it AIC? I'm sure it's not for me to say...
Rock on.
Pimp: "they made a believer of me but i still have a SLIGHT problem with using the name"
I hear you, I wondered about that after you mentioned it. I don't think it'll be a classic like Dirt, but it's still a really good album IMO. The last AIC had some choice songs on it, but it kind of dragged for me. This one doesn't. Yea not as good as Dirt, but I like it better than their last one. Of couse now that you mentioned about the name, I think they should have went as the Jerry Cantrell Band.
deadman...: Glad you liked the tunes.
Mullytron: Welcome! They do capture the AIC classic sound, but I almost see them as a band which the AIC sounds more than AIC the band. Like Pimp said, it just not the same without Layne. I'd compare them to AC/DC when they lost Bon Scott, & replaced him with Brian Johnson. I don't know, lets just see what the future holds for them.
Rock on!
jagger: Yea those are some big shoe's fill.
I'd put Layne Staley's voice up with the greats of all time, so after losing him, I wasn't too interested in a new AIC album. It's tough getting by the name, but it's a damn solid album. I caught em live a couple years back and they put on a hell of a show, which warmed me up to the idea a bit. "When the sun rose again" sounds like something that could have been on the SAP EP. I didn't think I'd be listening to a solid AIC album, and an amazing Megadeth album in 2009. Life is good!
Gritty...:I'll have to listen to the SAP EP again. Haven't heard that in years. I agree, if you did take away the AIC name, it would still be a great album initself.
Awesome!
They remain true to their music and sound even better!
jose...:I just picked it up, it's an awesome album!
