I've often wondered that myself. Couldn't the cars generator while using the gass part of the hybrid recharge the electric part of the hybrid or have some solar panels built into the top of the car just under the top layer of the hood, trunk and roof so you barely see them?
Wish I was, my idea was to use rechargeable batteries to circulate the charge from one battery to other, thus in the process, keeping a constant charge going.

Oh yea, I learned a lot from that report, did you see the on one GMC? They showed some great alternative fuel car's at the end of that report.
