WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Okay, I've posted this before too: The Small Faces, Lazy Sunday. But I couldn't resist it.

Posted over 3 years ago
I have had such a fun and lazy Sunday on MOG - all day - again - and I thought that I should post this. It is now Sunday evening here, but it will be Sunday afternoon for some of you now. I'm now drinking a glass of cava and listening to some excellent tunes. Have a happy and lazy Sunday MOGgers.

  3. Terry Staunton says Always a pleasure and never a chore, o majesty of Hades. The Small Faces clips have been a delight, an acceptable interruption in my playing of albums by Richard Hawley, Cousteau and Amy Winehouse. And you gotta be good to stop me listening to those babies. I shall bid you all farewell for now, as I'm about to prepare myself a lovely Chicken Jalfrehzi with various side dishes on the, erm, side. An especially Vesuvial repast is what I have in mind, the kind of thing my cockney friends would refer to as a "pan-cracking Ruby". (Apologies to American moggers not familiar with the gutter slang of Brit enthusiasm for Indian cuisine - there I go again, I'm such an elitist) I also want to avoid the MOG for a while, in case anyone should post the result of the Liverpool-Arsenal game before I have a chance to view the televisual broadcast of highlights at 10pm (GMT). I may well return after 11pm, either with, depending on the result, a sulky post of how we were robbed and the ref was a Scouser, or with an MP3 of my forthcoming hit "I'm Not That Way Inclined But My Back Door Is Open to Thierry Henry 24/7" Whatever the outcome, as my dear friend Helen might understand... I've got mind to worry, close my eyes and drift awaaaaaaaaay!!! Later, alligators. Manana, iguanas, Sir Terence of Big Big Lovetown xx

  4. QueenofHell says Only an 'acceptable' interruption Terry?

  5. Terry Staunton says Yes, Helen, only 'acceptable'. And before you ask me why I'm not up to my elbows in curry right now, why aren't YOU glued to the telly watching The Apartment? It pains me so. Less than a fortnight into our heady liaison, and we've already started lying to each other, dreaming up excuses and alibis... Star-crossed, doomed and destined for the emotional scraphead, the both of us. Yours, with moistened thoughts of the way we were, Heartbreak Tel xx

  6. QueenofHell says Well, Col's watching Attenbrough and I'm making a palimpsest of Lionel Richie's lyrics: Stuck on MOG Ive got this feeling down Deep in my soul That I just cant escape Guess, Im on my way to the loony bin Needed a psychiatrist...

  7. Terry Staunton says Huh, you've always got some excuse, haven't you?

  8. Terry Staunton says Oh, and Palimpsest - great word! I must confess I had to look it up. I thought it might have been an early 70s prog band from Lincolnshire.

  11. ROCKNROLLPIMP1 says hmmm i wondered when you were gonna post some more of these cats

  12. QueenofHell says Palimpsest - yes - I'm not as stupid as many think I am - because I'm so daft normally.

  13. QueenofHell says I'm only joking Terry - I would not tell you the scores of the football. I have no idea what they are anyway.

  14. Terry Staunton says The day in capsule form: Arsenal won. Tottenham lost. I watched some cool Small Faces youtubed footage. A very good day indeed. (Except for the curry house being closed on Sundays, and having to make do with reheated lasagne from the back of the fridge, but you can't have everything)

  15. QueenofHell says Damn that curry house! Hurray for youtube!

  16. QueenofHell says Hurray for Arsenal too!! My sister in law will be rejoicing.

  17. Dale says How long were you going to hold onto this secret affair you've had with the Small Faces? I'd think, if you liked them that much, you'd have posted more of their music, or at least nominated them for the MOG Great 501. Oh right, you've done all those things, never mind. You know quite well that I've never thought you daft, although I'll have to have words about Toon Army. I can't believe I've given my fanship to a side that's facing relegation.

  18. QueenofHell says Dale - I have no idea about football - I told you that. And, I never took you for a glory seeker.
    Permalink posted 11/12/2006
  19. Dale says Not at all, I'm more concerned that I'm the black cat that's given them such rotten luck.
    Permalink posted 11/12/2006
  20. QueenofHell says I only ever really liked King Kev - good old Kevin Keegan. My mental mother bought a portrait of him in a charity auction once. It's something else. Jeez - 'Walking in a Keegan Wonderland' - we have to look at it every Christmas. It's in the dining room.

  21. Dale says No worries, I think this is the clip that won me over to them anyway.
