Fancy some Rockabilly? Put Your Cat Clothes On!

Posted over 4 years ago
I love Carl Perkins! From the Rockabilly Session 1986 with Eric Clapton,George Harrison,Ringo Starr,Dave Edmunds...'Put you cat clothes on'Cause tonight we're gonna really rock it rightYeah Kitty, put your catclothes on'Cause tonight we're gonna really bop it rightRock it!'I'm listening to this with my cat ears hairband on, which I've taken to wearing around the house, taking it a bit literally perhaps. I wish there were a club where I could listen to this kinda music all night.

  5. QueenofHell says Oh, glad you like it. Yeah, watch that bassist go! Anna, next time I'm near the shop I'll buy you a pair of these cat ears. I wore them to go to the shop with Terry recently, and I bumped into my next door neighbour. He thinks I'm strange. Well, he's right, I suppose.

  6. mickimicki says Mog ate my comment! Helen, you're teasing us with your kitty-kat headband! Where is a PICTURE? The video is great. I'm still undecided whether I'm more stunned by the bassist's attacks, or by Carl Perkins' HAIR-DO. They're both truly awe-inspiring.

  7. Dale says I just realized it's the drummer of the Stray Cats. My previous statement still applies. And methinks Anna and Lizzie want that bassist to do to them like Steve Severin does to Siouxsie herein: (Can't say I blame them.)

  8. Terry Staunton says Not only is the drummer, Slim Jim Phantom, from The Stray Cats, so is the bassist - used to go by the name Lee Rocker. Oh, and the piano player is Geraint Watkins, currently a member of Nick Lowe's band. (Boring muso Mogger will now shuffle off to hide behind his stacks of dusty oldies and trivial factoids...)

  9. dermahrk says Queen, you are not alone in your love for all things Carl. This HBO program, which I watched because of the Beatle connection, turned me into a Carl fan for life. Mickimicki, I must tell you that Carl was balding in the 1950s. That is a wig. Not a bad one, though!

  10. Dale says No way Terry, I _live_ for trivial factoids.
