How to tell when your comment won't "take"

Posted almost 4 years ago

One of the recurring glitches with the new MOG is that sometimes - and ONLY sometimes - your comments won't publish. You write and write and hit "publish" and - nada. Big freeze.

I've just figured out a sign early on to discourage you wasting your time. Do you notice that sometimes in the "Comment" box that the strip at the top, starting with the Bold (B) key and ending with the HTML button, is missing? Those seem to be the Comment boxes that will NOT post. So, hit the "back" key and keep trying until you get a comment box with the strip. Then write away....

I figured that out after some trial and error too. I have been having a lot of trouble with previews not showing the posts WYSIWYG. It's driving me crazy. I have had to edit numerous times to get it to post correctly. Paragraphs jump, lines don't break, pictures move down, font size and color changes and so on. If some of my posts look funny, that's why. Any cures for that?

I'm using Word to compose and choose fonts and then copying into the WYSIWYG box. When I preview- it is not WYSIWYG. I can't trust the preview. Any solutions you've come across?

Trial and error. At least you CAN edit posts after publishing. Not so with comments. Once you've made a mistake and published you are shit out of luck if there's an error in there.

(Funny, I went to comment and preview this and didn't notice that the bar was not there- had to hit refresh 3 times.)

Been there done that. I have to remember all the time to preview first and check spelling in Word before I comment! If you find any more cures, please share.
