Musical Arts and Crafts

Artist:
Last night I decided to do a little arts and crafts project. I was unpacking the 500th box of crap into my little one bedroom apartment when I came across some old 12"s my grandma had tried to throw away decades ago but had somehow managed to be added to my load of crap. I decided to make some vinyl bowls:
I know some music lovers might cringe at the thought of ruining perfectly usable albums, but these bowls will be used much more often aaannnddd I made sure they were pretty bad albums to start off with. I don't think I'll be listening to a 1960's childrens birthday song record or a second copy of "The Sting" sountrack. Engelbert Humperdinck is one gorgeous fella but it's probably better off that a copy of one of his 69 releases (and I'm not even exagerrating) is no longer playable.I'd say the craft project was quite successful. Here are some instructions in case you decide to clean out your vinyl collection but can't bear to completely part from them:-Heat oven to around 210-230 degrees Fahrenheit-Place albbum on top of an upside down oven-safe bowl (size doesn't really matter for this bowl)-Plave album and bowl in oven for 3-5 minutes-Once album starts to droop onto bowl, remove album from oven (be careful, it'll be a little hot) and push the album down into a bowl with a diameter slightly smaller than 12". -The album will not stick onto the bowl and will harden in a few minutes. Also: Try with 7"s!
