WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

A Quick Goo Goo Dolls Question

Posted over 3 years ago
Does anyone else find the songs in which Bassist Robby Takac sings (and one can assume writes) to be just absolutly awful? Is that just me? Cause I think the bulk of the Goo Goo's material is pretty good, a bit sappy in places, but generally good. But when I'm listening to their albums I have to skip by tracks like "Something Bad" and "January Friend" and "Full Forever" before I throw up in my mouth. They're horrible songs! The lyrics are band and his voice si stupid and the music is cheesy and aught to be played by a motivational skit team at a high school! Who's with me!? Let's kill Robby Takac!

  1. annsommers says I agree with you 98%. The other 2% goes with the fact if you did get rid of Robby Takac then no more goo goo dolls which means there would be no good songs

  3. Dean Browell says I dunno. The only Goo song I like is the one from the No Alternative compilation.

  5. Tony Scalzo says Since you're gonna say shit like "let's Kill Robby Takac!" I'm gonna have to defend him. Robby's the cool one in that band. While I'm at it, I'll let you that I don't like that band's music at all!! But you can't say "Kill Robby". He's my friend so take it back.

  7. Anonymous says Agreed. Although for some reason I do like "January Friend," the first time I had someone listen to it, he made that sour face as if he just tasted something incredibly unsatisfying...

  8. DizzyLizzy says Let's not kill anyone. How's that? I agree with Tony in saying you were out of line saying such a thing. And although you are not alone, everyone is not with you. I love the goo goo dolls...and that includes Robby AND his songs
