I'm coming to you live from the 6th floor of the Los Angeles Airport Marriott where the pool is nice, the food is good and I haven't paid for anything yet. Despite being in LA, this isn't a bad business trip. I could probably get used to having the company pay me to fly all over the place and learn things.But... it's still LA. I miss my Jenny. Before I left I added to my Palm some of the 2006 albums I haven't had time to give a proper listen. Among them was The Warning by Hot Chip, it's really the first I've heard of them and I gotta say it's very relaxing and very good on headphones. I'd compare them to a more interesting Notwist, more harmonies and more twinkle I guess.I also rearranged my tracklist for Return to Cookie Mountain, as it turns out I had all the correct tracks, just had them named wrong. My "Playhouses" was actually "A Wolf Like Me" and I had "Hours" marked as "Snakes and Martyrs" and when I say "I" I really mean who ever created the torrent I borrowed from the internets. So now it's accurate but I still say "A Wolf Like Me"should have been the album opener, that's how I got used to it, it was the first experience with the new album so it imprinted on me like a baby chicken that that's how it should sound. But I respect the band's choice in tracklisting so it is as it must be. Still in my top 3 for best album of the year though.Aside from that I really miss home but the booze and free steaks take the edge off. I'll be home Wednesday morning to return to business as usual. I actually miss sitting at my desk at work wasting time on Mog. I have lik 50 unread posts from all you people and I can't catch up using hotmail to track them all so if you've said anything important I won't be able to add my input yet.Right then. Toodles.
