well theres three things ive been wanting to post about

1. Colin Meloys live solo album appropriatly titled Colin Meloy sings live!

2. That car commercial with Noah and the Whale song 5 years time (i posted about them a while back)

3. jesus i forgot the third thing already!! Dammit well i guess i'll post whatever it was later then but for now #3 will be julian casablanca collaborating with santogold and pharell

after hearing Colin Meloy was releasing a solo album i literally jumped for joy, im not kidding. anyways upon purchasing the cd i saw that it included the track we both go down together, my favorite decemberists track. and yeah it was $12 well spent. Colin has a magnificant voice and a very pleasant sense of humor. The album includes songs as well as a few tracks of him talking to the audience (theres one track where he compares his set to a campfire). its pretty funny and as if his small talk wasn't funny enough he plays the worst song he's ever written entitled Dracula's Daughter. Yes its as funny as it sounds. He delivers gorgeous song after gorgeous song. Hes wavering voice is accompanied by intricate guitar that feels timeless. i give it a 10

i was so suprised to hear Noah and the Whale in a car commercial. I was talking on the phone and i had to hang up because i was just so damn suprised. Well looks like things are looking up for them. What can i say besides thats a fucking kick ass song that millions of people have the opportunity to hear. im glad the boys are doing well and i guess they deserve a big congradulations (no im not gonna call them sell outs)

what the fuck is casablanca doing with pharell and santogold?! i guess thats what fame does. i mean seriously wtf. a song for converse? ah well maybe all this time he's been wearing his chucks he was planning ahead. advertising their shoes so he could get a fat check. in that case hed be pretty smart. well i guess if some people get offered a shitload of money they'd be in an advertising campain for converse too (sadly)

i thought the song they did for converse was really good, and it didn't seem like an obviously watered-down advertising song. i'm guessing you're crossing your fingers that pharrell doesn't work with the strokes on their next album!
