I guess Pseudo Cyborg isn't dead, after all.
On Friday my friend Josh pointed me in the direction of an Asobi Seksu Remix Contest. Immediately my mouth dropped and I got to downloading the available assets. Not only is this particular group a favorite of mine, "Thursday" is one of my favorite songs. Opportunities like this don't come often and I had made up my mind that I would finish the remix, contest deadline achieved or not.
I began work on Saturday by listening to the a cappella track, making sure to focus on the lyrical content in particular. I listened to it about three times, actually. Yuki sounded so desperate and I really wanted to convey that emotion.
Plus the original is so good, I wanted to be able to do it justice. Air's remix of "A Better Future" by David Bowie or Octet's remix of "Girl" by Beck come to mind as shining examples of what a remix should be and do.
In any case, I finished my remix approximately 30 minutes ago. I hope you enjoy it.
