Tortoise @ Koko, Camden

OK, so not that recent, rubbish phone pic, but a fantastic gig! Djed the 20 min opener an obvios highlight + finishing drum battles. This was support from Chris 'Clarke' Clarke. One of the loudest and heaviest things I've ever heard.

  2. Prova says Hi ivi, Sorry for the vague post! When I said 'Djed' I meant the track, not that I had Dj-ed :D
Chris Clarke was the opening act, hadn't heard him before but the set was amazing glitch/noise and really got me in the mood for the main event.
The Tortoise set was incredible. It was one of the 'Don't Look Back' series of London gigs organised by the 'All Tomorrow's Parties' (ATP festival) crowd where they commission favourite artists to perform their meisterwerk, in this case the classic 'Millions Now Living Will Never Die' album from 1996 (One of my fave albums of all time - http://allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=10:w88e4j172way).
'Djed' was the opening 20 mins of music and absolutely blew everyone away. After the album set we were treated to more multi-instrument mayhem culminating in a head to head drum battle not seen since the days of Buddy Rich and Gene Kruper!
Hope that clears things up ;)
