This oddly themed track that was dedicated to a transgender disco dancer who was "One Half Woman, One Half Man" is from the funkalicious 1979 LP "Get Up". Singer Vernon Burch was originally a guitarist from Washington, D.C. who started out playing clubs in his early teens. He later joined up with acts such as The Delfonics, The Stairsteps and The Bar Kays before going on his own. Burch started recording for United Artists in 1975, he wrote songs for the film Report To The Commissioner that year as well. He later put out albums on Columbia, Chocolate City, and Spector.

Pretty forward thinking for '79! My guess is that a record like this would be banned today, though. Good content for Fox news. You should email it to them and say it's the new music rotting the minds of the youth. Call it the new LGBT anthem. Nice one
