Funk is one of my most favorite genres of music. I love it because it never fails to make me feel happy. Nothin lifts my spirits like a good funk groove (Check the bass slappin on this one!) Q gave us some great music! Great movie score work too! I remember in the 90s there was a dance single with a sample of the "YEAHHH" at the beginning of this track. I cant recall what the song title was. Maybe it was just a sample loop.

I shouldve known that. Black Box is one of my faves from my 90s dance clubbin' days. I havent listened to their music in awhile and couldnt place it. Thanks Code!

My goodness, it so good that I must play it again and again. Listen to the bass line.
I think that without the electric bass, there wouldn't be any funk. No funk, no happy ears. I don't want to think about it.
Funk on, brother :)

I love this stuff. I'm with ya on that one...funk is a favorite genre for me too, and as Bartleby said - it's all about the bass.
I was first introduced to Brothers Johnson by Mr. Tarantino in Jackie Brown. (fast forward to the 2 minute mark for the Bros. goodness)

kat: I think I was turned onto them by Jackie Brown too. Although I remember hearing Strawberry Letter 23 playing in Pulp Fiction as well. Its not on the official soundtrack, but its in the movie I think when Vincent and Jules goto get the briefcase from Brett. Ya gotta listen closely.
