Ya can't have a Funky Friday Without some Bootsy! This debut from Bootsy was released in 1976 and was produced by main P-Funkster George Clinton. You can definitely hear echoes of the P-Funk sound on many of the tracks. One of the songs 'I'd Rather Be With You" was later sampled by NWA for their song "Id Rather Fuck You" off the 1991 album efiL4zaggiN. It was a more subtle, heartfelt take on the original track.

  1. Lady Miss Ian says Now, if you believed in Heaven (and believed you were going there), would this be what you'd want to see when you got to the end of the tunnel of light? Bootsy, riding through the clouds on a funky-a** motorcycle, saying: C'mon in baby. Man, I'm in danger of losing my Junior F.A.R.T. patrol badge. I haven't posted the funk in a while. Looks like it's time for a trip to the Funk-chives.

  2. Bartleby says I'm catching up on my missed post. I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with your Funky choice. This reminds that I wanted to make a post on great bassists... Thanks, Pete.
