WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

RIP Mitch Mitchell

Posted about 1 year ago

Beacuse without Mitch Mitchell - the man who banged the skins for Jimi Hendrix- Crosstown Traffic would not have sounded as good. He died today in a hotel room in Portland Oregon. He also played for The Pretty Things, the band that gave the world the first (sorry Pete) rock opera with S.F. Sorrow and The Dirty MAC with John Lennon Keth Richards and Eric Clapton (Go and have a listen to Thye Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus for that one).

Wow....there goes the entire band....A bit of irony here, but last night I saw on TV that there is only one World War I veteran still alive. I wouldn't have thought that WWI would outlive the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Oh well, the guy could sure play. We'll miss him.

    Ahh, bummer. Great drummer!

His daughter used to wait tables at my favorite diner in the whole world. What I wouldn't give for that Palace Breakfast Special in the Sky right now...
