SXSW Announces Line-Up...or...It's Five More Weeks Till Spring

Posted about 1 year ago
Like the groundhog, when South By Southwest (Or SXSW or "Southby" as the cool kids call it) announces it's line-up, you know there are only a few more weeks till the biggest music festival in the world begins. Bands from every continent numbering about 1500, converge upon Austin, TX. New Zealand, Iran, Indonesia, Brazil, Portugal, England, Ireland, Scotland and Japan all have bands showcasing. I'm not going to copy and post the ginourmous list...but here is the link to greatness.....http://2008.sxsw.com/music/festival/alphalist/.....plus the Soho Dolls will be there :>)

  1. champersnova says I am speechless. I was going to tell you about this brilliant Glasgow band "Call to Mind", who were supposed to play SXSW this year but couldn't see them on the list. Which would not make a significant difference looking at the list though. How many bands can one see there at most for cranchy caramel's sake?! Even the thought of the missed bands among the rest of 1500 would make me go crazy.

  2. Pop Savant says Champ- Well I'll skip the Swedish death metal...and there are also scattered parties throughout the city all day long, so one showcasing artist might play 2 or three other times during the week. So you might catch 2 dozen bands playing showcases and another 25 playing though out the week...but you'll see this all when you come in 2009...wink wink...

  4. champersnova says Come to think of it, I probably won't see around 50 bands untill 2009... Oh well, not even a year till 2009 from now! Luckily though, "Tunng" shall give me a relief tomorrow night!!...
