Review Of Our Show in Detroit

Bodog Battle Of The Bands: "The Shelter" in Detroit, MISat. Sept 16th-Show started @ 7pmBy: Nathan MazurThe Bodog Battle to end them all in the Motor City began with a performance from Downseed. Fresh off a recent tour, they started off the show in style with their hard rocking and catchy songs set pace for the rest of the bands to overcome ¦or go home.Nothing is Sacred also rocked the stage. Although mostly heavy rock, they left room for some singing and even performed harmonies between their screams! All in all, they put on a very energetic show and kept the temperature rising. Also performing in the Battle of Detroit was local area rockers Stoneslinger brought a good old fashioned rock and roll feel to the stage. Their singer was energetic, and fun to watch, and they got the crowd moving.Flat Broke started their show with a bang. They brought a $300 guitar and a bucket of glue to their show; I assume they plan on smashing something! They had an old school punk rock feel to their music and the crowd participation was in full effect by the time they finished up fists were pumping and rousing cheers were nearly as loud as the set!Mindrought also performed and had their fans screaming their name far before they actually started playing. They played heavy music and their crowd sang the majority of their songs along with them.Masons Case brought a large crowd all the way from Lansing, MI. They were as excited to see the performance as the band was to perform it and you could feel the connection between the faithful fans and the band even if you never heard them before, you certainly understood why. They had tight drumming, catchy harmonies, and an alternative rock sound that certainly won over a few more new loyal soldiers to support their bid for the next round.Poormercy had a catchy alternative sound to their music. They got the crowd excited, and had most of the crowd singing songs along with them. They also brought a large crowd from a far distance and proved they have the fan support to back up their reputation as well as a strong set to prove their talent.Concrete Groove had the majority of their fans chanting their name, even after their set was done. They destroyed the stage with their heavy instrumentals and slick, screaming vocals. Nothing but solid originals and open jaws remained when they finished up.Fun Ender closed out the night with an indie rock performance that Detroit will not soon forget. The crowd seemed to appreciate their song writing and enjoyed their performance, responding with polite cheers of adulation. They were the perfect way to end a great night of music in Detroit! At the end of the night, top prize was awarded to Masons Case, with 2nd place going to Poormercy. Congratulations to both bands on a job well done!WILD CARD WINNERS are still being considered and will be announced following the tally of crowd voting for the fan favorite.
