A great song to drive around to and sing at the top of your lungs. The live version is fantastic.

  1. colizzle says I heard once that this song was written about one of the guys in "Wall of Voodoo" ("I'm on a Mexican (whoa-o) radio.")

  8. SamTheButcher says "Joey" is a classic. The whole Bloodletting album is ace, but Joey..whoo. I dunno about it being written about someone from Wall of Voodoo, but Andy Prieboy, the guy who replaced Stan Ridgeway as lead singer when *he* left WoV, plays on the album and wrote or co-wrote "Tomorrow Wendy", another great song. I prefer his version to the CB version, oddly enough.

  11. Mark Mordue says Concrete Blonde and Mazzy Star eh? You have got taste, whether you are the real Pink or not. You must know the song Jesus and Mary Chain do with Hope Sandoval - "Sometimes Always"? That's a winner for the road and a fast car.

  12. barbeecain says i saw Concrete Blond in concert in Asheville NC a few years and they were amazing! she ripped up the room! The energy was intense and she was stunning... I used to cover her songs (way back in "the day" because I loved her style and material. What a powerful band :) Mazzy star is another fave, I love the glass of wine analogy as I am usually on a soft pillow, in bed with a glass of wine when i am listening to her! Namaste barbee

  13. 2Serenity says I've never seen this video but I heard the song so many times as a teenager that I wanted to give Joey a hug because I was not mad at him anymore!! Her voice reminds me of Pat Benatar in a way. Glad to see you on Mog, Ms. Pink! =)
