WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Woyaya -- We Are Going, And We Are Already There

Posted over 2 years ago
This is a great African folk song that has been sung by civil rights folks and church choirs for a long time. I'm psyched that it's in our new Unitarian Universalist hymnal supplement, and we sang it last week in church with me on lead vocals. I wanted to find a smokin' version to share with my Music Director so I downloaded two different ones, one by the awesome group Osibisa and another by the lovely duo Kim and Reggie Harris. The first version is like fist-in-the-air righteousness with a touch a Ladysmith Black Mombazo, the second is more lyrical, slower and more poignant.Anyway, my congregation now loves this song and I hope you will, too.

i happened to attend to a live performance of Osibisa. They still have the fire. Amazing. The old man still has the voice and steam. An excellent and electric performance. They are superb.
