4 months after Alex Chilton died, Hummel succumed to cancer. Popular with crictics and other musicians Big Star never received the commercial success that i think they deserved. When it comes to power pop few bands were their equal. Now only drummer Jody Stephens remains from the original baqnd that formed in Memphis.
