Do you still think daily about someone who is no longer a part of your life? Do you still wish them well even though things may have ended acrimoniously or chaotically?     RaG3aH0liC says Most people I have ever been close to that I am not close to anymore pass through my mind on a regular basis. A lot of these thoughts relate to songs, whether the material reminds me of them lyrically or in the actual context of sharing the listening of the song with said person. And BTW Jenny, my mom was verbally abusive.....ooops, wrong post. Another day....

    beansideirae says Sure. I used to have four very close friends, that all drifted away from me. Never a day goes by I don't wish I could share some detail of my life. But that's how it goes. Not sure I'd want to stop thinking about them, their memories are too much a part of me.

    ivylander says Found out a few months ago that the first great love in my life - and the first great ugly ending - had divorced. Thought about her for a week or so, was sad for her. But she was someone who would not allow herself to be satisfied. I broke off the relationship when I realized that. What you want for someone has nothing to do with what they want, or need, for themselves.

    contrabandwidth says this probably sounds cliché but when my son was born, it really let me put negative feelings towards those in my past behind me. I felt so lucky to have this happiness, I couldn't hold on to stuff that irked me in high school. I even made peace with someone I felt bad about fucking with.

    Rinfy the Gypsy says I have an ex-girlfriend who was killed in an accident back in 1997. Things had not ended acrimoniously - we parted ways as good friends.I still think about her nearly every day, and here I am married for 5 years and with a young son. I still dream some nights about girls I was in love with back in high school. That was a LONG time ago. I hope they are all miserable and lamenting what could have been with me. (JK).

    Lizziegreeneyes says I abslolutely do - those who left my life or have left this life... & almost always there is a song/songs/artist/band that will make me think of them. I am all about the present & future, but I can't forget who came before :) For the second question - most of them - YES... a few - I don't wish anything for (but those are the ones that didn't end well at all. I wouldn't wish bad things for them - I just make no wish at all) For the most part I am glad to have the memories - do my best to keep to the good ones - all relationships in my life had some good to them, if not mostly good/all good. There are a few that more haunt them remind me... those would be nice to put on a higher shelf I can't get to but to clean away the dust. Great post !!!     Lizziegreeneyes says & one clarification - even those that don't always give me warm fuzzies - the music we shared - so long as it was "mine" before things went bad - it will remain loved. What they brought to me - if I loved then, I do now. If it's their's & I am not a fan - they took it with them ;)

    Mike the Knife says Too busy to get too nostalgic or bitter about relationships past, but some of them cross my mind now and again - and I wish them no ill. (And I occasionally remember the glory of our...um...love - and wouldn't mind a one-night transport back.)

    Rawkkiddoh says Its hard not to, not a day goes by that some strange happening doesnt make me think of an old friend or a past love. I have never blocked anyone completely out of my life, it would not be fair to do that.

    chucky says No. Not only do I not think about people that have passed from my life daily but when I do think about them my feelings remain hateful. These people, and thankfully there are few, are not in my life for a reason.
