WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Devil In Her Heart

Posted over 2 years ago
I've been on a big early Beatles kick recently. I like to get out my vinyl copy of "With the Beatles," put on my go-go boots and do Hullabaloo dances in the middle of a square of shag carpet. The other day, this very thing was happening. The needle slid over to "Devil In Her Heart," and I got to thinking "Wow. This song is the cat's ass." But then I thought about it some more. Q: Where did I learn to like it so much?A: THE BEATLES CARTOONS.Does anyone else remember these? I think a friend of mine taped them off the Disney channel in the 80s. I hope she still has the tape, as it looks like one of those things Apple has never made available to the public and probably never will. There are clips on YouTube, and it's hilarious to hear how horrible the voices are. Paul McCartney sounds like Hong Kong Phooey. The cartoons featured lots of Beatles album cuts from their earlier work, which is actually rather smart in retrospect. The kids buy the singles, tune in and experience the rest of the music. Increased familiarity. Next thing you know, they're shouting about it on the internet 40 years later. Yup.

  2. Shud33 says Ha!!! Sure do!!! I used to watch this all the time. Okay,I was really little so that is my excuse for this embarrassing secret of which I am about to tell you. (and everyone else who reads this..lol..) So, I was raised listening to the beatles, and I have always been boy crazy. This wouldn't be any different when it came to John Lennon. Yup! I had a crush on him. So you know how on the cartoon, they were always being chased by the female fans? (this is where the lil' girl comes in) I used to talk to the t.v thinking they could hear me and i would tell them to come to my house. It will be safe here. LOL...okay, I'm a little embarrassed now...Um, the end! Great post by the way!

  3. Party Pose says That's not so embarrassing. I usually talk to the characters on "The L Word." Except I'm usually screaming at them. To go away. Permanently.
