Aphex Twin has been one of my favorite artists for about the past two years, but when I finally saw that he was on the lineup for coachella, I was more pissed than anything else. My friend was able to go and see it, and I really wasn't jealous until I got the torrent of the whole set. It is easily one of the best live performances by an electronic musician that I have ever heard, and even in the spectrum of Warp records which holds Grizzly Bear, Battles, Squarepusher and Flying Lotus. It's essentially a mesh of all of his styles as he has transformed throughout his career, and that sort of retrospection is something that is impressive in itself. His ability to capture the flavor of each prvious album, and make a completely original live show that also incorporates Hip-Hop, and samples into it much more so than he usually does is what makes him the shit. I haven't posted in a while, but its for things like this that I do it.

great post, fabulous photo! i'm also a big fan of Aphex Twin, especially because he has recorded so many different moods and styles and such. But Squarepusher is an even bigger favorite for me. i SO wish i could have seen him play at the Bangface weekender this year. hopefully he will play stateside soon...

Sweet, thanks. The whole live set blew my mind really, but yeah it always sucks hearing about the bombest concert from a good friend cause they'll always have that on you. I checked out that Bangface show, and it looks insane. Ceephax, and Luke Vibert is all I would need. I actually want to live in England just for the electronica.
Just copped this torrent, ta for the heads up. Cracking tune you posted. Saw the guy in Dublin a few years ago. We thought he'd turn up and take the piss as we heard he'd DJ'd on sandpaper the week before, but it was easiy the most rocking DJ set I've ever seen. The place went wild.
Btw, have you seen the "gurners" who sometimes perform with him?
haven't heard of the gurners, but sick video. Even when the quality is so rough on these types of vids you can tell how amazing the show must have been. I'm way jealous that you got to see him, even with those random dudes on stage with him. Hella funny.
