Tortoise Begin Tour Today In Ohio

Last time we talked to Tortoise they pretended they didn't know who Daniel Lanois was despite booking a future tour with him. Tortoise kick off tanother tour tonight, June 14th in Colombus, Ohio, and are bringing a truckload of openers. Among those joining the neo-experimental jazz band are the likes Hot Chip, Lichens, Make Believe, and Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) with Steve Reid. Tortoise will also make it to Bonnaroo, performing the second night of the festival. Joining Tortoise for the band's six-date "West Coast Fonk Bumps Tour" will be Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins. Muldrow and Perkins are signed to the same label as Tortoise's John McEntire side-project Bumps, whose self-titled debut is out on June 19.
