Metal

Sure, so i play in a piano fronted indie pop rock "whatever the fuck you want to call it" band..but that doesn't mean that i don't like my Metal. In fact, i really like Metal. In this post I am going to tell you about some of my favorite Metal. 1) MESHUGGAH. Meshuggah is really off time groove oriented type metal. Meshuggah is so fucking stimulating to me. They easily hold my attention.. some of their grooves are so freakin interesting. It's like i can hear a song so many times, and it's almost like the first listen every time, because the rhythms are so complex and different. And the grooves are so good.. you can dance to them. (unless you dance like one of those girls from the strip clubs in grand theft auto). And these dudes are funny as shit!!:2) DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN. But the album "Calculating Infinity" only. (and the one w/ mike patton too). This shit is the pinnacle of real pissed-offt-ness meets crazy musicality. And i got a drum lesson from their former drummer Chris Pennie once (he just left to play w/ Coheed), and that was sweet. 3) CANDIRIA. These guys are like ghetto ass dudes from brooklyn who write sweet ass technical meshuggah styled stuff. They rap sometimes too. Actually kind of a lot. 718!!!!4) THE TONY DANZA TAPDANCE EXTRAVAGANZA. These guys are my favorite band in the area. Their also some of the coolest dudes. their drummer (although they might have a new one now) used to use a fuckin fold out chair as a throne.... so here's all these metal drummers with their brand new shiny iron cobra double bass drum pedals and ridiculous rack full of some bull shit... and Mason rolls up, pulls his rickety ass drum kit out of the back of his truck, sits on a fold out chair.. and still tears these dudes up! It probably helps that Layne writes some of the sweetest riffs known to man too. this is funny:These aren't exactly metal necessarily, although i guess they could be.. anyway, i also really like Deftones "Around the Fur" and "White Pony". As well as Glassjaw "Everything you ever wanted to know about silence" and "Worship and tribute". And also, if you'd like to check out my old band, which isn't exactly "metal",.. i don't really know what it is, do that here. Have a nice day! Hopefully I've turned you on to some Metal. -tahm
