I don't know why I awoke at 7am on a Saturday morning. Maybe b/c I passed out on the couch playing NHL2K8 listening to the new Radiohead album (which I highly recommend). Plus, I only paid 1 pound for it, however much that is.
Saw several shows over the past month. Queens of the Stone Age for about the sixth time. Was definitely the best show of theirs I have seen. It's also a good idea to catch them at the beginning of their tours. Their last tour i saw them at the beginning and at the end, and by the end Josh looked like he wanted to be anywhere else except onstage.
The capper to my recent concert binge was the 2nd show of the Van Halen reunion tour in Greensboro, NC. I was more fascinated seeing 16 year old Wolfgang play than his dad for some reason. The kid pulled it off like a seasoned pro. It was an awesome show and great to hear all the old stuff with Diamond Dave again. I did hear several fellow concertgoers question Dave's sexual preference and he didn't do himself any favors when he came out riding around on a giant inflatable microphone. Talk about phallic overtones. I could feel the entire audience cringe in stunned embarrassment. Oh well, that's Dave for ya.
By the way, here's something I learned on my drive from Atlanta to Greensboro-DO NOT SPEED IN NORTH CAROLINA!!!!! I got stopped doing 83 in a 65 which apparently is an offense just below murder in NC. If you are going over 80 you must appear in court. If you plead guilty to driving over 80, your license is revoked!! What the fuck?!! My little side trip to NC: $125 concert ticket, $50 hotel, $80 gas, $30 food, $40 beer, $175 ticket and court costs, and $175 attorney's fees. Worth every penny!
Buy the new Radiohead. More accessible than most of their stuff if you are not a diehard. There are actual songs on this record.
Been enjoying the new Foo Fighters album as well.
That's all for now. My Xbox is calling. I know it's pathetic for a 37 yr old to still play video games, but consider that I was a child when Pong came out and I have been hooked ever since. Please understand, I beg you.
Divorce, moving, etc., have curtailed my MOG endeavors for quite sometime. Not my thirst for music, though. Britt, the QOTSA album is in steady rotation. The semi low-fi production on some of the songs reminds me of the Eagles of Death Metal stuff (which I love), but after several spins I'm in the Queens groove.
I've never heard of you, you are not on my ipod, you never will be on my ipod and please stop whatever bullshit you are pulling to put yourself on my playlist. I would rather listen to myself masturbate into my catheter than hear your music. Understood?

Aaaah, it's the return of an (M)OG- where have you been hiding, man?!
Er, I don't know who this Jeremiah guy is...and based on this post I don't think I never wanna.

sigh I _suppose_ such events are adequate reasons for MOG absence. Here's to the hope you can stick around and play for a spell.
Ah, I'm also enjoying _Era_'s production; now that you mention it, some of the rawer guitar parts do have an EoDM element . So, I've had _Icky Thump_ for over a week and only unwrapped it today...judging by the looks of your page, I may want to get around to giving a play, yeah?
I can't believe you have waited so long!!! It is by far their best to date. Be careful, once you put it in it won't be coming out for a while! Queens and Stripes are all I have been listening to for the past two weeks. Got the Velvet Revolver, Amy Winehouse, Cold War Kids, and new Beastie Boys today. Yes, i am a sucker for the 90's rock stuff. i enjoy the slick Berndan O'Brien production on the Velvet album. That is the one thing I did not like about their first album. I couldn't crank it without feeling like it would blow my speakers. Brendan knows how to mix it just right. Plus, he's a hometown boy (Atlanta). To this point, I really enjoy the Beasties album, though I wish it had lyrics. Reminds me of my early 90's days listening to "Check Your Head" over and over and over...Put that White Stripes cd in and GO......!!!!
