For readers who don't know, I work with the Canadian band illScarlett. After their successful debut full length album reaching Gold status in Canada and touring a slew of countries in support of the record, illScarlett is back with their 2nd full-length album titled, "1UP!"

"1UP!" was released across Canada on September 29th and illScarlett played to a sold out crowd at Toronto's Opera House. "1UP!" features a mix of the classic illScarlett rock/reggae sound, with a bit more emotion threaded throughout. With the addition of Anthony Carone on Keyboards in this album, "1UP!" definitely redefines illScarlett's sound. After one listen, it is apparent that the band's sound has matured. The album was recorded in California with producer Robert Carranza (Jack Johnson among others) this summer, and features the first single, "Take It For Granted," which is recieving play across Canada, and future hits like "Milkshakes and Razorblades" featuring Kardinall Offishall.

The band just finished up a tour through the States with Pepper and are about to depart for more US dates with Big D & The Kids Table.

I got to be on site (and even throw paint) during the filming of the video for "Take It For Granted." (I still can't get the red paint out of my shoelaces)
