INTO THE BLUE AGAIN!

Posted over 5 years ago
Hello to all MOGGERS! This is my first post here. I'm very happy to be a part on this great comunity and hope that we all can share our tastes in music and discover new artist thru our relationship.Well, but lets talk about music!!!As my first post I'd like to talk about an album that has been recent released and that has been in my player ever since. INTO THE BLUE AGAIN by The Album Leaf. This is the 4th LP that Jimmy LaValle released under the name of The Album Leaf, and in my opinion, it's the best one! For making this album, LaValle team up again with Brigir Birgisson, who is the engineer in Sigur Ros' Sundlaugin studio. He recorded the basic tracks in Washington then went to Iceland where he mixed them with Birgisson. This partnership brought to LaValle's work a big influence of Icelandic music, with very beatiful textures and ambiences. All tracks have a reliable foundation of the Rhodes piano, mixed with gentile glockenspiels and electric guitars. But the drums are what really called my atention. In INTO THE BLUE AGAIN LaVelle makes a elegant mix of programmed and acoustic drums. My favorite track until now is "Always For You" and this one is my sugestion for anyone who will listen to the album for the first time. Here is a video where you can learn more about the conception of the record. Enjoy it!PS: sorry for any english mistakes. 8-)

  2. ivylander says Your English is fine, friend. One thing you will discover here is that a small but determined band of MOGgers has an intense interest in Brazilian music. So please don't feel that you can't talk about musicians from your own country. We are a very open-minded crowd here, with one or two exceptions that need not worry you.

  6. rock or death says wow - thanks for posting this. Great video, band sounds really good. I will see if I can get it from iTunes right now! I love Icelandic-produced stuff. Spent a lot of time there working for an Icelandic Web community technology company called OZ back in the '90s. I love Iceland and Icelanders! And the music they make and produce! Welcome to MOG!
