Ever hear a song so flawless, so amazing, that you actually don't really listen to the rest of the artist's music because they can't hit that height?
I know that sounds stupid, but I swear I've felt it. For instance, I just haven't been able to bring myself to explore Bright Eyes' music because "Take It Easy (Love Nothing)" is so damn good, that they'd have to be the best band ever to hit that high all the time. So I've been saving myself the disappointment by just ignoring them altogether.
Yes I know I'm crazy. I just want to know if you're crazy with me.

P.S. Sorry I've been away; I've been blogging in a private forum, and I find myself barely interesting enough to blog in one place, much less two.
We've all experienced having "that song in your head." Some tune that you just can't shake, something you hear over and over and over again.
Well, there is a cure for this condition. Just start thinking about "The Hustle" by Van McCoy and whatever song was in your head before will instantly disappear. Unfortunately, since there is no cure for having The Hustle in your head, it's kind of like using morphine to cure your heroin addiction.
Good luck with your day.

haha - this morning I had the today show on the in background and they did a little promo for Gretchen Wilson who was going to be on after the break. For the next two hours "i'm a redneck woman" (just that one line mind you) kept running through my head.
I could've used your advice just a little earlier. Heh.
Thanks to www.boingboing.net (my favorite site) for pointing me to this gem. (I'd embed it, but credit where credit is due: go to their site.)

Good to hear from you.
I'm middle-of-the-road. I will listen to a bunch of songs, or even a bunch of CDs by an artist whose song I love, but I don't torture myself by finding out-takes and B-sides. Just like on DVDs, I don't usually watch the deleted scenes...I figure they were deleted for a reason. I dunno about Bright Eyes though. Seems like everything they touch is golden!
You should for sure listen to more of Bright Eyes' music. I, personally, think that pretty much every Bright Eyes song is amazing... you might disagree, but I don't think that you would be disappointed with their other songs. I recommend "Lover I Don't Have To Love"... It was the first Bright Eyes song I heard, and it made me fall in love with them.
I would recommend "First Day of My Life."
