My favorite band of a long time has been Death Cab for Cutie. Ben Gibbard's lyrics are RIDICULOUS. Everything is so simple, but so dead on. His word choices are perfect. Nothing extravagant or pretentious, but that's why it's so genius. It's effortless.I'm always on a hunt for great lyrics. I'm on a huge Weakterthans kick lately. Great, great lyrics... and great songs.Leonard Cohen too... wow.

This isn't really music persay, but it's a huge, huge part of it. I'm almost finished reading "Love is a Mix Tape" by Rob Sheffield, who was a writer for Rolling Stone or something. Anyway, it's an autobiography with a timeline set by mixtapes of the 90's. Each chapter is a mixtape, and it tells the story on it's existance and origin. This cd is amazing. Reminds me of The Rising Tide by SDRE... and Cannons is addictive. I can't.. stop...I didn't get as hooked on "Frog Queen" stuff or The Fire Theft for some reason. Maybe I just haven't listened enough... And I know how everyone's favorite SDRE album is Diary... but I prefer the Rising Tide... and that seems to be everyone's least favorite. Hmm...

Last night was such an awesome show... Woah.First of all, I got the best parking spot EVER. Right acros from the TLA. It's okay that when I got out of the car, I stepped in about a foot of water. Mmmm, wet sock.Twilight Singers. WOW. They had a big candelabra on stage with some incense, which was lit first. Then they came out.. Played "Teenage Wristband", which is one of my current favorite songs.
