My favorite band of a long time has been Death Cab for Cutie. Ben Gibbard's lyrics are RIDICULOUS. Everything is so simple, but so dead on. His word choices are perfect. Nothing extravagant or pretentious, but that's why it's so genius. It's effortless.I'm always on a hunt for great lyrics. I'm on a huge Weakterthans kick lately. Great, great lyrics... and great songs.Leonard Cohen too... wow.

This isn't really music persay, but it's a huge, huge part of it. I'm almost finished reading "Love is a Mix Tape" by Rob Sheffield, who was a writer for Rolling Stone or something. Anyway, it's an autobiography with a timeline set by mixtapes of the 90's. Each chapter is a mixtape, and it tells the story on it's existance and origin. It's a great book about love and loss and all that great stuff,

Ok, so let me just say that I love the Jesus & Mary Chain.. But I have a little trouble falling in love with all the super feedbacky songs...The way my music taste runs is usually backwards and sideways.
