I've been spending a bunch of time listening to the new album from Melbourne (Australia) band the Offcutts. There's something about the really raw, "recorded in a stairwell", laden with simple riffs kind of sound that appeals. I get similar enjoyment from bands like G.Love & Special Sauce and Sublime - very different genres but sharing that same live kind of sound... just wish I could find more...
