Steve Gadd gives us a lesson in how to swing ... he lays it down, by digging deep and nearly attacking the groove with an intensity that borders on vengance ... and yet is still completely, 'in the pocket'.While Steve's solos are exceptional, I am most impressed by the consistency of his 'feel' and musicality, while laying in the pocket, and 'keeping time', like it was etched in stone. This is offered in regard to a series of posts on great drummers and specific drum grooves. This is probably mostly of particular interest to fellow drummers, and other musicians who seek to expand their rhythmic knowledge and understanding, but hopefully others may appreciate it too.For more on this theme, look into my MOG pages.Caw

  1. Bartleby says Solid. I can't think of any other word to describe Steve Gadd's style. I hope you won't think I'm being dismissive. Quite the contrary. You've more than persuaded me.
