Thanks to UffinGreg for reminding me of a great Prince Paul track. I have one to add just for the pure silliness of it. I can never decide if this track is actually a skit or a song, but it says a lot about Paul and his boys De La, who merged fun and creativity in a way that has rarely been matched.

that whole album was a big f' off in a lot of ways to a lot of people that cornered De La as being somehow corny or inauthentic after there break through "Three feet high...," when in fact they were so above a lot of what was coming out, especially the emerging gangster scene, and also memorable pop-hop moments of radio and MTV horror.

It is funny you should bring De La up. I have never listened to a lot of rap, but there are a few artists over the years that I have enjoyed. De Le Soul, Tribe Called Quest and Gang Starr being some of the few that I have enjoyed and still do in limited doses.

it's kind of like "talk singing" that r. kelly is fond of, ie. all his soap opera songs,
except...
it's prince paul and it's a fly song!
