WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Emotional Funk

Posted about 1 year ago

Recloose is another perennial favorite of mine. His new album is out and I am so excited. I am digging the Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis style of production pon this one. It does not have the depth that I usually like about his production, so this song is kind of out of character based on his past work, but I respect the party time vibe.

I have a mix cd of his posted on the dark multi side, or you can catch an excellent funky friday set on the internet here.

If I can figure it out, I will post another track in the comments.

Yeah, those clipped drums totally remind me of Prince, and obviously the over the top vocal.

Wow, that"s great. I'm not a big fan of Prince, put that here is really good.

Hermes, this recent album was releasd by Sonar Kollektiv - I have no doubt that you are familiar. Past work of his was released on Carl Craig's Planet E and on Peacefrog.

I heard the name before, but without any association. Recently I didn't have time to do more "research" in music.
