WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Giant Steps

Posted over 2 years ago
Just finished all my examinations yesterday. As soon as I walked out of that room I was overcome by the incredible need to listen to Coltrane. I rode my cycle home intent on having a freak out kinetic dance party. (A two year old girl does not know that you are not supposed to dance to John Coltrane.)So I came home and little one is laying in my wife's lap with 103 fever. Not what I had envisioned for the moment of ecstasy that we as a family made it though the first semester of law school. So anyhow later that night I did listen to Giant Steps, just not in the dramatic fashion I had intended. Here's to three weeks of doing nothing, of course now I gotta start sending out resumes and stuff, but that can wait for a couple of days, right? An interesting development is now that I am out of the mental mechanism of trying to retain a semester's worth of material, I have totally stepped out of the deep electronic music binge I was into. Expect some varied posts in the near future.

  1. Groon says There's nothing like sharing music with your kids, is there? My girls love to dance to whatever it is I'm playing, and if you've been following any of my recent posts you'll know that some of it ain't what you'd call "danceable." Congrats on finishing your first semester! How many more to go? Hope the little one gets better quick.

  2. Oatmeal says It is fun to share the music, it is a bond I share with my father as well. 5 semesters to go. And the little one is getting better. We took her to the doctor and then (gasp) to the mall and had her sit on Santa's lap. I was really into it, even though I can be very cynical about the materialism if the shopping season. It was a good time.

  3. Groon says I know what you mean. As much as I hate going to the mall and seeing the blatant money grabbing, seeing my girl's light up when Santa comes into view makes the trip worth it.

  4. Oatmeal says I know, my daughter is Santa crazy. We have watched Polar Express 3x in the past week.
