WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Hieroglyphic Verse HHT

Packing it in for the night. Tomorrow when you are all bobbing your heads to this track, put a fist in the air for me as I attempt to vomit out as much civil procedure as possible and write away, draining pen after pen until my right hand seizes up in cramp!Little reminiscing here, this one is in honor of my first ever "real concert". 1993 Souls of Mischief, De La Soul, and Tribe Called Quest were a real thrill to say the least. This album is the 1998 posse album by all the Hiero crew, Del and Opio trading verses on this track. Outstanding cleverness in the lyrics, but what always gets me about Hiero is the jazzy/funky line that they straddled in their unique west coast style.

  2. Oatmeal says Walking - I used to have that tape but lost it year ago. It was an AIDS benefit right? There were some great tracks on that. Guru, Digable Planets, Spearhead. brz - that's hilarious.

  3. brz says Oatmeal- i've had Del and Hiero on my radar for a long time and never gotten over the hump to check them out. this settles it, so thanks for the post. as a side note - i'm listening to classical radio in the background on my computer, so when i play posts from MOG, there's usually some of that playing in the background. Bach's Violin Concerto #2 sounds suprisingly good layered underneath this. i hope your exam (?) went well, and that you're able to drink with your left hand.

  5. fistula spume says I loved the Red Hot series. There were quite a few of them. I enjoyed Red Hot and Rhapsody, Red Hot and Bothered, Offbeat, No Alternative... There were a bunch. I liked all the ones I've heard.
