O pi ate me - late night mellow madness

Posted over 3 years ago

First let me say that I miss Muxtape and Mixwit. Record companies are eff'ing idiots, and any time I think that I would want to be a lawyer for one I quickly recall that it would be a bummer to be on the wrong side of history despite any skillful training. All I want to do is post an internet mix.

Does anyone know if you can still make MOG playlists? I seem to remember that feature somewhere in time.

Now that I can no longer post late night madness mixes, I will have to settle for a track at a time. I hope you checked out my two Bill Evans related jazz posts. I now change gears to a little more back water sound, Brightblack Morning Light.

Back to more pleasant images, how about a canoe trip under the moonlight. That is about what comes to mind with this song. Tremolo to the horizon...

there's no doubt about it, the record companies are delaying progress in the music industry.  the technology is way ahead of the fatcats.  it's a shame, too.  even MOG is affected by this thinking...

you can def make playlists on MOG still.  i have a few on my page i listen to regularly.

i diiiiig this tune.  reminds me of a particular time in my life:  outside Seattle, 1994 or 5...  in love, but a bit of a nihilist.  listened to a lot of music like this.  mazzy star always invokes the same nostalgia. i'm definitely a Brightblack Morning Light fan now!

Yeah, funny thing is I posted some Mazzy Star just a few days ago. I must be in a languid mood.

Oat that Evans was nice. I want to pull up my old post about him and Mingus playing with Red Norvo. Damn if I can find it. It's buried with all my other junk.

I am by no means a very knowledgeable jazz fan, but Evans is someone I always come back to.

I was going to do a whole series of late night listening but I have been having trouble with Mog and my web browsers lately. I don't know if it is Flash or a Mog issue, but I will have to save the others for another evening.

so do i! i miss Mixwit. i didn't get a chance to get into Muxtape but i read the really heartfelt letter of when it was about to fold. you need to be a lawyer, Amiel, and defend the side of good and progressive intentions.

i didn't know we could make MOG playlists ... when did this happen? HOW?

i've been loving Brightblack Morning Light myself. this track is sooo working for me at the moment, thanks.

have you tried 8tracks, Amiel? not bad and getting better.

    http://8tracks.com/

some limitations - can't have more than two tracks by the same artist and have to have at least 8 tracks (doh!) to make the playlist public. The library they link to is sketchy.

some benefits - can upload your own tracks

boo hoo for mixwit, loved it. BBL in the red dot is sounding pretty unbroken to me...

I will check that 8track place pronto.

According to Molli's coment, you can save playlists. I did it once right in the beginning. I think it may be part of the Rhapsody functions.
