WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Its Magic

Posted over 2 years ago
A few people have sent me messages on other singers that I like.I am into slow romantic ballads, jazz and blues mostly.I have really never liked James Brown music until recently. I found three cds by him called "Soul On Top" , "JAZZ" and "Ballads".Totally different from the James Brown I have known on the radio.I found on Soul On Top cd a song called IT'S MAGIC.Yes the old song we all know Doris Day made famous.Yes the old music was written by Jule Styne, the lyrics by Sammy Cahn. The song was introduced by Doris Day in her film debut, Romance on the High Seas, and was published in 1947.I really was so taken by it and I thought I'd share it with you.I have a whole new respect for James Brown after I bought the three cds. I wish he had recorded more like this. Please if you listen to it write your opinion and let me know what you think.

  1. dermahrk says I'm impressed. The father of funk could really sing. I kinda knew that, but this is irrefutable proof.

  2. txboots says Not bad! I never knew that James Brown had recorded this song! But, I still like Doris Day's version better. Such a sweet, pure, crisp voice. I've always loved her.
