Okay, so let's review which bands I've mogged about so far...ColdplayDeath Cab for CutieGrooveLilyYesHendrix (for the 4th of July)Miles DavisMostly kind of gentle music, right? Well, except for Hendrix. And that's cool, I like gentle music. However, I have a very varied taste in music, and I must say that it keeps things interesting. So, I'm going to introduce you (if you haven't heard them already) to a band called Less Than Jake. Don't know how many moggers listen to them, but as most of MOG appears to be indie rock, I'm gonna assume that at least a few haven't heard them. Yes, I visited the LTJ Mog Page, and it appears that actually, a larger number than I would have thought on MOG listen to them... but it looks like no one's posted an mp3 yet. Anyway, if you already like/listen to LTJ, enjoy the mp3, and ignore the post, because it's more introducing/explaining the group than anything else. So, I'm officially in a Less Than Jake phase right now. For some reason (to me at least), they're a great band to alternate with Death Cab for Cutie on, like, mix CDs and whatnot. I don't know why - maybe it's the contrast. And that's why I'm going from Death Cab phase to LTJ phase... it may seem weird, but, eh. I'm weird. Get used to it.Just to prepare the people here who may be new to them, Less Than Jake is... well, different people define them in different ways. They are definetely ska-influenced. Some people call them "ska", some people call them "punk rock", some people call them "punk rock with ska influences". Me, I just call them "ska punk". =DThis song that I've chosen is a great "introductory" song to Less Than Jake, especially if you're not that open to more punk-ish stuff. My next Less Than Jake post (not necessarily my next post) will have an introductory song of a different style... like, if you're fine with high energy stuff, but you're wondering if they do some cool stuff with it.Anyway, here's the band's song "The Science of Selling Yourself Short".Hope you guys enjoy it, especially if it's not something you'd usually listen to.And if you guys already know about Less Than Jake... keep up the good work. ^_^
