Zune a few months later

Posted over 4 years ago
So its been about two months with the zune, and I have to say I'm still pleased with the hardware. It isn't perfect and has a few quirks. What I do like is that on the occasions where it encounters a problem and shuts down, it has fired up right away after doing so. The software on 2.0 is much better than the original, yet it uses some quirks of its own. Mainly this quirk arises from the fact that it uses the rather obscure tag of album artist to define how it groups the songs which can be a problem for compilations or tagged files that have something else in this field. Once you know this though, it is quite easy to change this with tagging software like softpointer's Tag&Rename. As well, zune has some problems with album art. But if you tag the files with the album art the problems dissipate. I am rather impressed with the included podcast reader. Overall, I give the whole system a B. They can definitely make some more improvements in the software, especially if they offered the user some more control over operations.
