WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Willy Mason-Where the Humans Eat

Posted over 2 years ago
Although the majority of Willy Mason fans will no doubt be revelling in the delights of the new album, i myself am still stuck on the first album. Im not taking anything away from this second album because i think whatever Willy Mason puts his voice or lyrics to is pure genius, but there is something raw and simple about 'where the humans eat'. I guess it could be the fact that the majority of the songs were recorded in very few takes. Whatever. I cant stop listening to it. As for the comparisons to Dylan, its obvious a lot of his influences come from him and other country artists such as Woodie Guthrie. But personally, hes an artist in his own right and i think the second album shows this. Saying that however, i cant help but think of 'all along the watchtower' whenever i listen to 'we can be strong'....

  1. Lizziegreeneyes says He speaks to my soul - most definitely from Where the Humans Eat - far more organic ... but that picture - it's like the poetry of his lyrics ... nice one !!! (I think we're allowed to be sentimental about our first :) - though I am excited to see where he leads us next). His EP is also worthy of note ... yay for Willy - hope he comes to Philly soon !!!
