SOUNDS OF FUTURE PAST AND PRESENT PERFECT

What Drives You, Your Heart or Fear?

Posted about 1 year ago
It could be both. The point isn't to decide right now on an answer to this, it's just to bring up the thought: Why do we make the decisions in life that we do? Is it because we can feel it in our hearts that it's the right way, right path, the right yes or no at that moment? Or does it have nothing to do with our hearts? Maybe we make decisions because we fear. We fear the possible end result our decisions will have. Or maybe it's the not knowing what the end result may be that keeps us up at night. The fear of the uknown then becomes our guide to life's decisions.Ah, and then there's the heart-fear decision combo. When the decision of the heart and fear meet. Yes, that would be where the decision to love happens, or does it? Fear to love. Love to feel. Fear to feel. It comes down to taking chances. It's something a lot of us usually fear. But what if those chances, those fears, could be the things that could acutally bring us the most happiness? Shit. The things we'd miss. It's vicious, the unknown, it can drive us to stay so far away out of the fear of what it could bring. Or it can do the opposite: absorb us, and make us investigate every inch until each stone is unturned and each speck is over analyzed. And then the unkown becomes the known. And that fear, the intrigue, the mystery, whatever you may think of it, is over. But instead of feeling relieved that the "fear" is gone we find ourselves unsatisfied. Why? Maybe we can't live without fear. That simple. In the end, I suppose following your heart becomes a better option, opposed to making a decision out of fear. Decisions made from the heart just tend to happen and without too much thought. You let yourself feel fully, every emotion that comes with that decision. You allow yourself to be open, to be vulnerable, to take a leap of faith. To just be. Which in the end I think is much more satisfying. And in the case of love. Well, love just happens. It doesn't tend to be a decision you make. There is no choice.....Unless you're the type that fears to truly follow your heart.I hope you've enjoyed my Sunday babble. Cheers!

  1. PopeyePete says I'd like to live by using my heart not my fears to guide me. But I think that sometimes fear is good because it keeps you from making bad choices. If you really want to do something, you're going to find a way to do it regardless of fear.
