As I sat in the movie theater tonight watching "Away We Go" I couldn't help but to make note of the soundtrack. It had my sound. The voice sounded familiar, but the actual songs weren't making a connection. And they wouldn't have, as I realized about 15 minutes ago that the majority of the soundtrack is from Alexi Murdoch's time without consequences album. I've downloaded a few of the songs from the album and will now listen to them over an over again for the next week to try to audibly chew them up to see if they're worthy of digesting or if I'd rather not waste the extra calories and spit 'em on out. Shit. It's summer. I've got to be picky.
p.s. Yes, go see the movie.

This is great that he's getting the exposure. I've got to put this on my "To See" queue. Jim Kranski and Maya Rudolph are in this, correct?
It's odd, I d/l'ed his album on emusic not long ago and now it has disappeared from the emusic vaults. He must have signed to a major or something...?
Def. a "To See List" addition. Kranski and Rudolph. Check. They play a couple that, in my opinion, is the perfection of any twosome. Their love is the perfect soft-serve twist of pure and silly: it's cute but hits a level much deeper than just "cute." I wanted to eat it right up. Don't get my wrong though, although there's a lovey dovey quality to this flick I had a number of really good belly laughs. Belly laughs are always a good sign in my book...
Good to know. I'm not really a huge "romantic comedy" guy but if it's more romantic in a non-cheese sort of way w/ enough humor to keep me intriqued, I would probably give it a thumbs up.
Plus I like Kranski and Rudolph as actors/performers. As long as Jim doesn't look awkwardly into the camera from time to time, I'll go see it (or should I say "rent" it?).
