After selling over 2.5 million of their debut album Employment, they must now have enough money to put a deposit down on a UK home..Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby - Live @ NME Awards 2007..Second album, Yours Truly, Angry Mob (released 27th March in North America) sees them pushing on with more ‘Joie de Vivre’ even though some of the subject matter such as Boxing Champ, describes bassist Simon Rix getting beaten up. Chant along hit Ruby kicks it all off and the album is filled with choruses that you will find yourself singing along too at the must inappropriate moments.Employment was accused of being ‘gimmicky’ with far too many ‘Whoooahhs’ in to grab hold of new, live audiences, now though they are letting the songs do the all the grabbing. The Chiefs are not one-trick-ponies, Try Your Best and Love’s Not A Competition (But I’m Winning) are slower, more plaintive efforts that still highlight the excellent song writing on show here.
