In a Big Country..Big Country was a rock band from Dunfermline, Scotland, popular in the early to mid 1980s, but still releasing material until Stuart Adamsons death in 2001..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Country.One Great Thing..Filling in the gaps. No.19http://mog.com/Neill/blog_post/29537....and I still hate bagpipes.

  1. david terrar says Neill, I think I'm going to have to follow you in "Filling in the gaps" and plot an occasional, alternate route through the abc to z, lexicon of love, world of music and see where the paths cross.

  3. BellaVendetta says I still think it is funny U2 and Green Day did that Skids cover. The Skids version is still better of course. I'm sure whoever wrote the actual song Big Country is quite wealthy now too; the Macy's department store chain has been using a wussed version of the song in their commercials lately.

  5. RobinH says Great band, great album, great singles. Fantastic live, saw them live on 3 consecutive tours, starting sometime after the first album. An early favourite track by the band was Wonderland. Does anyone remember the documentary series about aspects of music that Big Country were featured on? There 'slot' was about the complexities of touring - very informative and had some great live stuff. Once again, good call Neill. Now onwards and into the valley to look at your Skids post.
