First of all, what a crap name! I mean, I know almost every good name must have been used up by now, but 'The Pigeon Detectives'Anyway I've made two abortive attempts to see this Leeds band in the last 4 months, so here's hoping by Christmas.......Long live the 2 minute song!.http://www.thepigeondetectives.com/

  2. Joxley says They look pretty good. But the name does suck.

  3. Dale says Decent enough song, they could use a name change though. ;)

  4. Sureshot says Heard a lot about them recently but not sold yet. I wonder where the name came from. Band names often sound better when you know the origins of the name.

  5. Tony Scalzo says I think the name is fantastic! And they remind me of the Undertones which is fantastic as well. "GOING OUT, GOING OUT!!!"

  6. Mallory says I'm digging them. I had to refer to my music library to see what they sing as I'm getting quite confused with all of these indie british bands out there. Maybe it would be different if I lived in the UK...

  7. QueenofHell says Yeah - I like that song. Dreadful name. What possessed them?

  8. Anna says I like the name; it sounds ironic, like they are not taking themselves too seriously. I like that.

  9. DUSTdevils says they mean well... which i like... it's hard to be a good band in the uk at the mo'...

  10. davis64 says Though I'm getting a little tired of (nearly) every British indy band thinking that screaming in a regional accent equals talent, I actually like that song. And the name.

  11. ilcv says Dreadful band name - though I do like our feathered vermin friends, no offense to them. The Pigeons does work, David, indeed. A little too simple, too straight-forward pop for me. Are they...wot, 17?? Still, if it took an intersection of this band, this song, and everything else to get that Ms. Object-of-Desire onscreen, then that's enough. Are all the women in Leeds like that - something in the water? Anyway, is it passe in the UK to say you like The Rakes, cos this song is still damn good, and they were excellent when I saw them earlier this year in NYC.

  12. Neill says Can't sleep ilcv? Rakes are cool, just don't mention The Kooks!

  13. ilcv says Ian will do, with applied emphasis or not. yeah, last night was like 6am this morning EST...The Kooks, hell, I don't even know who they are!
