WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Rock Stars as Radio DJ's

Posted about 1 year ago

It has long been suspected that every DJ is a frustrated musician, but rock stars seem to be turning into DJs. Bob Dylans 'Theme Time Radio Hour' highlighted this a couple of years ago but the are plenty more doing the same;

Steve Jones (Sex Pistols) is on Los Angeles KDLE-FM.

Guy Garvey (Elbow) is on bbc6music.

Tom Petty is on XM's Weekly 'Buried Tresure'

Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) is on bbc6music.

Feel free to name some more......

    funny, rock stars as djs seem more important news items here on mog as opposed to a great drummer almost losing his life in a plane crash.

    Doesn't Suzi Quatro work for the BBC as well?

    By the way, Zane Lowe (BBC DJ, MTV VJ) would, I think, most certainly the 'frustrated musician' profile ;)

    @Neill: great! I remember a year or so ago he presented BBC's "Never Mind The Buzzcocks" once and he seemed a total natural.
